Hello,
My name is Kate Massicotte,
I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
I currently hold a Masters of Social Work Degree from Wilfrid Laurier (2021), an Honors Bachelor of Indigenous Social Worker Degree from Laurentian University (2020), and a Social Services Diploma from Confederation College (2010).
I have over 15 years of experience in the field of social work, specializing in supporting children, youth, and adults facing a variety of challenges.
In addition to my formal education and professional background, my own life experiences enhance my ability to connect with clients on a deeper, more personal level.
My approach to therapy is rooted in client-centered, strength-based, and solution-focused perspectives. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Narrative/Talk Therapy, to help clients work through their challenges and move towards their individual goals.
My goal is to empower clients to heal, grow, and thrive by focusing on individual strengths while providing the tools and support needed to navigate each person’s unique challenges. I hold space with compassion, authenticity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. Creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and free to express themselves without judgment is at the heart of my work.
If you are interested in accessing my services, I am currently offering individual therapy virtually across Ontario and would be honoured to walk with you on your journey.
